In Group B Zoran PRIMORAC beat Werner SCHLAGER after he trailed 1:3 in games. Previously SCHLAGER overcame BAUM also in full distance match. In the third round, PRIMORAC faced five match balls against BAUM in the decisive seventh game. He saved them, just to prolong the encounter. Soon after he was defeated. However, those points saved his quarterfinal place. By only one point, he progressed to the knock out stage and left top seeded player in the Group behind. The point ratio in SCHLAGERS case was 127:128, PRIMIORAC 131:131, and BAUM 128:127
